From little things big things grow. It’s a line made famous in a song by Paul Kelly, but for the MFC Hotshots Show Team it means so much more. For them it embodies their vision of the future. It evokes discipline, endurance, perseverance and success. Our little band of Hotshots are growing up and so are their dreams and ambitions.

Five youngsters from our first group of Hotshots are now leaders at our meets and are also interns carrying out vocational training at MFC Performance Horses. Learning to train their own horses up to competition standard, helping to start the young horses from our breeding program as well as learning how to work as a team, look after each other and show respect and courtesy for others.

​

But it doesn’t stop there. In 2022 several our Hotshots travelled to the United States of America, Arizona to be precise, to train, show and compete with their stateside peers. It’s been no free ride for these young adults, they have worked hard, put in the sweat, effort and emotion to their horses and improving their riding skills, and under the tutelage of Michael Costello and Christine Vano they are now ready to reap the benefit of all their hard work.

 

We can’t wait to see what the future has in stall for these talented young people, but you can rest assured it’s going to be good.
