WESTERN HORSE SPORTS CLUB

From the beginning...

Our story so far,

For some years now MFC Equine has run a youth program called the Hotshots. Designed for young riders, we welcomed any child on any horse or pony with any type of saddle, no problem. Our aim is to introduce the young ones to western riding disciplines, giving them confidence and knowledge in a safe and fun environment. They get to work on the mechanical cow and real cows when available, barrel race, move around obstacles and go on trail rides all under the watchful eye of our young trainers and mentors as well as Michael Costello, Professional horse trainer. It’s been a great success and some of our young riders have gone on to be successful in the show ring and become trainers themselves.

One question we were always asked is, why don’t we do this for adults too, so now, adults, mums and dads can ride at rallies and become Adult Hotshots.

After a time the decision was made for the MFC Hotshots to become and Incorporated Association. This means that we are now a stand-alone, not for profit organisation, run by an independent committee.

We're proud of what we have achieved and the future looks bright ahead.  We'd like you to come and be a part if it.

What we do...

At Hotshots our aim is to engage riders of all ages to practice and participate in all Western Riding activities. We vary our rally days with the mechanical cow, live cows, obstacles and more.

We meet on the 4th Sunday of the month, and rallies start at 9.30 in the morning with a break for lunch. We have a canteen which sells cold drinks and hot food and the money raised from this goes to supporting our club. In the afternoon we continue the fun and learning with more activities and finish around 3 o’clock.

MFC Hotshots is and Incorporated Association which is a

not-for-profit organization. The money raised from our rally days, fund raising activities and donations goes into our Bendigo Bank Account which pays for our insurance food and equipment.

From time to time, we will organise a special activity like a trail ride or a visit to somewhere special and you will receive plenty of notice if one of these events takes place.

We strive to always hold our club rallies, no matter what the weather or circumstances, but if an unavoidable cancellation is necessary, all announcements are posted on our Facebook page.

You can follow us on Facebook to see recent pictures of our rally days.

Contact us for club membership information and prices, we'd love to hear from you.
